Porridge Fingers / Oatmeal Bars / Baked Oats - whatever you want to call them - they're the perfect healthy, filling, grab-and-go breakfast or snack for adults and children alike.

If you've tried making porridge fingers before and found them bland and unappetising, save this recipe to use a base as it makes a super tasty breakfast or snack that always goes down really well with my family.

It's sugar-free as it's sweetened only with fruit, so it's totally suitable for babies 6 months plus. If you wanted to make it sweeter for yourself, you could add 1/4 cup of maple syrup or Sweet Freedom fruit syrup.
If you want to try some other flavour combinations, just leave out the peanut butter and try these ingredients instead...
Blueberries and coconut - add about a cup of fresh or frozen berries and a 1/2 cup of desiccated coconut. If you want to make it really creamy and luxurious, swap out the milk for a can of coconut milk.
Leave out the banana as well and add a grated apple, a grated carrot and a handful of raisins to make a lovely carrot cake flavour.
Raspberries and chocolate chips work well, although chocolate isn't really recommended for babies.
Switch the vanilla extract with almond extract, add a cup of frozen cherries and top with flaked almonds to give it a cherry bakewell flavour.
Try experimenting and see which combo your family likes best! Make sure you tag me @feedingtheirfutures on Instagram if you give it a go!
